What is a Dental Appliance?
Brushing and flossing can sometimes not be enough to maintain good oral health. Dental appliances can help preserve and protect our oral structures, as well as the health of our entire bodies, for those of us who participate in sports, clench or grind our teeth, or snore.
Dental appliances, such as mouth guards and sleep apnea devices, are available at Say Cheese Dentistry to help protect the health of your oral cavity.
Snoring & Sleep Apnea Appliances
Sleep disorders can interfere with your sleep and hurt your overall health and well-being.
When patients snore, their relaxed throat tissues cause the airway to narrow, resulting in the snoring sound as oxygen is forced through. Patients with sleep apnea have overly relaxed throat tissues that obstruct the airway, causing the brain to wake them up to breathe.
We offer custom-fitted oral appliances to move the lower jaw and tongue muscles to open the airway. This will increase your breathing and keeps you from waking up during the night.
Custom-Fitted Mouth GuardsĀ
We provide custom-made mouth guards that are designed to fit over your teeth and protect them from damage.
Sports Guards
If you are hit in the mouth while participating in sports, a mouth guard acts as a barrier between your teeth and the soft tissue of your mouth, protecting your smile.
Night Guards
If you grind your teeth while sleeping, a mouth guard can help protect them. If you clench your jaw, a mouth guard will help prevent you from clenching while also providing some pain relief.
